The surprise of my life!
So my mom asked me if I would be able to make it up to Beaver to celebrate my dads birthday. I really did want to go but Kev and Abi had a track meet that weekend and I don't like to travel by myself, mostly because Maggie can get pretty uptight while traveling. Mom wouldn't give up on me coming and I really did want to be there so we decided to go. I thought it strange when I told my dad that we would be coming for the big party and he didn't know anything about it. I knew I had ruined the surprise but I couldn't figure out why my mom didn't tell me it was a surprise, I mean she does know that I always spill the beans unless I am told other wise.
The kids and I made our way on Friday night and had a great dinner and visit with family. I just love being with family! Mom told me we would be having the birthday party the next morning at the restaurant. Again, I thought that was weird, I mean my dad has to work in the morning and the party was for him, oh well, I was excited anyway because we would get to have breakfast while we were there.
This next morning we head to the restaurant and are getting ready to order breakfast when out of the corner of my eye I see my very best friend running toward me. My best friend that I haven't seen in ten years and lives in Washington!!! I was in a bit of shock and let out a squeal that I am sure scared the pants off all the other costumers, not only the customers but Maggie and Megans daughter Sophie. I really couldn't believe my eyes it was the best surprise ever!!! Thanks to Dean her husband for giving that to her for her birthday although I feel like it was more my birthday!
We had a great time reminiscing she hadn't been home to Beaver in awhile so we drove around and caught up. It was a real treat for me to meet Sophie her daughter and to have our kids play together was so fun. I was also so excited to see her mom again it has been a long time. That night our other best friend, Karri and my wonderful sister, Julie (she felt so proud to be hanging out with the old women) joined us and we headed to the movie we laughed so hard it was like old times!!! and the term, "Big Country" will always hold a special spot in our hearts. Meg, thanks for taking the time to come it was awesome! Love ya and can't wait til May!!
