Spring Break!
We started out on Friday evening for Phoniex to spend the weekend with Rusty and Tracy. Of course the boys could not wait to get into the pool (and yep Kev let them get in with only their underware.) It was pretty cold but they still had a great time.
This is where the girls hung out they weren't about to get into that freezing water.
Rusty and Tracy took us to an Air show on the base. It was amazing! The kids had fun being up close and being able to take a tour of one of the planes.

Little did the kids know that their mom and dad are sneaky sneaky. The kids had been asking for months to go to Disneyland, we told them we just weren't going to be able to go this year, we were just going to go to Phoenix instead. They were good sports, and had decided to work hard and save for next year. Sunday morning they woke up to Mr. Potato head with a sign and money telling the true destination for our spring break.
They were so excited!! Kev and I had been hoping for a reaction like the ones we had been seeing on the commercial, but we had fun hearing them say, "I can't believe we are really going to Disneyland!"
A view from our hotel balcony.
We made it!! I love Disneyland it is magical and talk about memories being made!
The very first ride. We decided to get the rockets out of the way while there was some what of a short line. This line takes forever.
This is mine and Maggies view of the first ride. I am so ok with waiting to the side while others go on rides. It bothered Kev that I couldn't go on all the rides, but I have to say I always highly entertained just watching people. The are some interseting things that take place in Disneyland.
AHHH I love these kids!
Buzz Lightyear ride, one of my favorites. They also have a new Toy Story ride that I loved, but the line was forever long so we only went on it once.
Finding Nemo! So cute they had the birds sitting out on some rocks saying, "Mine, Mine, Mine."
So the Finding Nemo ride was awesome, cute, and fun, but we were in a submarine. Did I mention I am claustrophobic! So we walk down into the sub and we take our seat (Shown above) and then they close the hatch, (can you hear the music dun dun dun) I did start to have a bit of a panick attack, but after a few breaths and realizing that I had misunderstood the gentelman when he said the ride would be 18 mins long, I was able to calm down and enjoy the ride.
Ahh so sweet!
Love it's a Small World ride! I know you can't stop singing the song for weeks afterwards but it is a classic and wouldn't be Disneyland with out it.
Believe it or not this is the only character picture we were able to get. Sad I know, but the two older kids were more excited about getting on rides than standing in line to see a character. Poor Ben, next time we go I am definintely going to see more characters.
Sweet baby girl had the time of her life!
Ben is an amazing kids with huge amounts of energy. He was so excited about Disneyland, he would say over and over, "Thank you dad and mom for taking us to Disneyland." He also had a few adventures that taught some great life lessons. Our poor little Ben was lost four times on this trip to Disneyland. The first two he did just what we said to do if we were separated, to stop and don't move we would come to him. We were so proud of him. Now the next two times were heart raising nearly freak out moments.

MMM Churro time!

Can't go to Disneyland without getting a picture with the castle.
Gotta love the teacups!

We decided to save money and pack lunches and snacks. This is a great idea, it saved a great deal of money that we could use for other fun things. We stayed in a pretty nice motel and were embarrassed to take the big box of food in, so every morning I would head out to the van assemble the sandwiches and snack and away we would go. I was so impressed with the kids they did not complain once about not eating Disneyland's food.
"Goofy" kids!
She loved the carosal.

We had an amazing time in Disneyland! The kids were so good. I told Kev it's fun to go and see so many other kids it makes you realize how good your's are. Some of the favorite rides were: Pirates of the Carribean, Autopia (Abi loved this ride I think because she could drive her own car, we may be in trouble when she's sixtten!) Tower of Terror (Ben and Mac could have gone on this one over and over, Abi was ok with the one time.) Loved Buzz and Toy Story rides, the Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones and the list could go on and on. We had decided the kids could each pick one more ride and then we would be done, well wouldn't you know at that moment it started to rain. We finished our rides did our shopping and headed back to the motel in the rain. I am sure we were quite the sight running down the street with Maggie crying and Kev and I wearing the only two ponchos we had brought, (I know everyone was thinking why don't they give those pnochos to their kids.Well we did have a plan and that was to switch off carrying Maggie and put her under them. She didn't want to be under them so we just looked foolish) Not one complaint was made just chattering teeth and smiles on their faces from having the time of thier lives at the most magical place on earth!
One of the best things we did was give each of the older kids $50.00 to spend. This was for everything, extra treats, everything extra they wanted. We were not asked for one thing the whole time we were there, it was AMAZING! After rides we would walk through shops, and the kids were quiet; they were making mental inventories of things they wanted and how much they cost and if they would have enough money. We waited to make purchases to the very end. Each knew exactly what they wanted and that made it efficient and easy (which was nice because it was raining.)

We headed to Hunnington Beach and to our surprise there was a surfing competition. What a fun thing to watch!
What an awesome vacation! We were so close to not going but I am so glad that we did, we built many spectacular memories!
